When I pay my tithes, what all am I tithing from? ? -
should it be from money i earned working? or any and all money i received. for example i tithe from my paycheck. but i was in a accident and received settlement money. Do I tithe that also. What If I sell something. Is that supposed to be tithed as well?|::::|all income...|::::|I don t think there s any one answer for this, really. If you want to get technical, it s 10% pretax of all earned money. I don t think a settlement would count as there must have been expenses involved in the accident. If you bought something, then sold it, the difference (profit) could be considered income. But really - I believe the best way to look at tithing is to consider what it s for/ what it s about. To tithe is to acknowledge that God supplies all and will continue to do so - as we tithe, we make room for more and more abundance - if we are tithing from a place of open sharing. Having specific expectations of return, or specific mathematic calculations about tithing seems to take the spirit out of it for me. And my tithing does not just go to my church. I give whenever the spirit moves me. Believing in abundance makes it easy to give whenever and where ever there is need - and that abundance is always replaced many fold. |::::|You are not required to tithe in the new covenant. That was an old covenant requirement, and only wolves in sheep s clothing dare to teach old covenant points of law to Christians against the declaration of the council in Jerusalem found in Acts 15. Also, the biblical tithe was a tenth of the increase of produce and/or livestock only. No one was ever commanded to tithe of their wages, ever. This is a twisting of Scripture. Christian ministries are to be supported by free-will offerings only. To teach tithing, or any o.c. point of law is to subvert the Christian s soul. .|::::|Tithing is 10% of your gross pay, not your take home pay. I personally tithe all money I receive, even if I receive a check or cash in a gift, I tithe that. If I sell something, I tithe my profit on that. The idea of tithing is that you know that God is in charge of everything and that all your provision comes from Him, Jacob told God, quot;Of all thou givest me I will give thee a tenthquot;. So, we are to tithe unto the Lord. This money is used for the spreading of the gospel and the work of the ministry. There is no better cause than that! :) We are also to give free will offerings unto the Lord, whatever amount God places on our hearts. This is not a set amount but whatever we choose to give. But tithes and offerings are required as a Christian. The tithes and offerings are given to your local church. Beyond that anything would be considered extra offerings or charity. And of course all giving should be done with a cheerful heart. |::::|There is no tithe for believers. Tithing is under the law, and believers are not under the law. Believers are under grace. The New Testament says that you are to give what you want, cheerfully. And if you don t want to give anything, then don t.|::::|10% of what you earned quot;beforequot; taxes. your gross. Give Ceasar his due and God his due. add: all these ppl saying don t tithe ignore- it is a commandment and it blesses you. you will see an increase. How can ministry function without our financial support? 10% is nothing in comparison to how God returns.|::::|You shouldn t tithe at all if you feel like you have to. If you want to, then you should tithe on anything that the Lord gives you. We found that we had to give God all of our money in order to not have money problems. So we give a portion back of what He gives us to use.|::::|According to the scripture, you tithe from ALL OF YOUR INCREASE. It is generally accepted to be 10% of the gross. This is the quot;first fruitquot; of your increase and by honoring God with the first fruit, the remainder of your money will be blessed and protected. |::::|A tithe was to be given on the gross amount that a person had. It was to be separated and given to God. Under the Mosaic Law, tithing was ritualistic. Under Jesus, giving is what we do because we know that all we have belongs to God, not just 1/10 of it. |::::|Tithing was never practiced or taught within the first-century Church. What you really need to do is sell off everything you own and give it to the cult. The cult, I mean Jesus, would be very very proud of you.|::::|Do whatever you want. It s not like if you end up giving 9% instead of 10%, you re gonna get yelled at. Giving to charity is a great thing. Do the amount you want to do. You want to, right?|::::|Tithe from all that God s gives. Giving your first fruits back to God is only commanded from a quot;cheerful giver, quot; so there is no required percentage.|::::|Genesis 28:22 - quot; This stone, which I have set up as a pillar, will be God s house, and of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to You.quot; A tenth of EVERYTHING, all your increase|::::|Tithing is based on all your earnings. It s a percentage of the total sum of your wealth. |::::|All income should be considered. But dont do it out of obligation. Do it because you want to. God wants a cheerful giver.|::::|Tithe whatever you feel. It s from what you earn, not gifts or settlements or whatnot, but if your heart tells you to give more, that s ok.|::::| I say your pay check but it sure wouldn t hurt to put in a little extra if you have it.|::::|That would be an ecumenical matter|::::|all money you receive as income is included if and when you tithe|::::|Tithing is an elaborate form of a church based pyramid scheme
