How much money do radiologists earn? -
I am considering a career change and would like to know the earning potential. Thanks.|::::|Earning potential is unlimited but you must continue to educate yourself need to be certified in all areas CT scanning, reading these reports, fluoroscope, ect. if not you will not succeed you may also be independent contractor and float from place to place making your own schedules as far as what days you will work and times but if you don t continue to educate yourself you will find that the changes and constant updates of this equipment you will soon be out of a job.|::::|Depending on the area of the country and amount of experience, starting salary could be anywhere from $200K - $300K. Earning potential can be $525K or more. However, a career change to a radiologist is not done overnight. After a bachelor s degree and acceptance to medical school, there s four years of medical school, four years of residency, a year or so of specialized fellowship training (and these days the majority of radiologists do specialize). As another poster noted, there are requirements for on-going education to stay current with advances in medicine and specifically the field of radiology. Also, keep in mind that radiology is a specialty that is frequently sued.
