What are some jobs for a 14 year old? -
what can i do to earn money? besides babysitting|::::|i think this depends on the state you live in. Most states that I have seen have a minimum age of 15, and each age 15 up to 18 usually have certain restrictions as far as hours possible each day/week. Hours are usually more restrictive during the school year. Typicaly jobs for youngsters are usually babysitting (which you don t want) or a newspaper route if that s a possibility. However, most times if you can get involved in a family business these rules do not apply. My mom owned a pizza shop when I was in high school and I worked there 4-9 every night (age 15 to 17 or 18).|::::|animal shelters|::::|Dog walking, helping others around their house, for example, organizing garage, vaccuming and dusting. Paper route. Washing friends and families car. See if there are any dog kennels in your area and apply there. I ve been working at a veterinarian s office for a few years, but I think you only have to be 15 to work at a dog boarding facility. They might hire a 14 year old for a couple of shifts, but I don t know. Good luck and have fun making money.|::::|pizzeria good first jobs if you know the owner or someone who works there you might be able to get a job busing tables. it will probably be under the table money but if waitresses split tips with you will be worth it.|::::|My brother worked at Aamp;W at age 14. you should be able to too.|::::|Here s a short list of jobs which you can create to generate income: 1. Learn calligraphy so that you can provide handwritten invitations and thank you notes to prospective wedding parties, birthday celebrations, etc. Seek out clients through wedding planners at nearby churches and temples. A starter calligraphy kit usually runs around $20 and anyone can easily pick up this skill. The going rate is usually $1 per hand addressed item. 2. Seek from your neighbors a gardner position which involves planting, weed removal, plant/tree trimming, light brush clearance. You will be using the neighbor s equipment and tools. Again, do not represent yourself as a lawn mower since there are any number of safety issues involved. A door-to-door solicitation of surrounding neighbors is required and you can charge between $6 to $9 per hour. 3. Offer policing/removal or clearance of trash services to surrounding neighbors which involve trash pickup within nearby residential area. Limit the extent of pickup to small areas and be aware that there are no hazardous terrain or elements involved in this process. Again, a door-to-door solicitation of neighbors is in order. You can charge between $6.75 to $7.50 per hour. 4. Acquire a set of window cleaning tools [a bucket, liquid window cleaner, sponge, squeegee, handle with an extension and a small step ladder] and solicit local businesses for your window cleaning services. However, be careful to limit the height of the window cleaning to no higher than one story. Charge $1 per window panel. 5. Why not become a paid feeder servicing the disabled at nearby nursing, convalescent, assisted living/care centers and hospitals. It involves feeding food to patients who are unable to feed themselves. The starting rate is $8.00 per hour. The only downside is that one has to take precautions to wash one s hands after each feeding. A posting of your services [by a business card or flyer] on a reviewable bulletin board would be enough to generate customers. The paid feeder position is one of the fastest growing occupation at this time. Good luck!|::::|to my knowledge you have to be 16 i dont know any places that hire at 14|::::|Other baby sitting and tutoring, I cant think of anything else. BUT your only 14, enjoy it. You ll have plenty of time to work in the very near future. Seriously, enjoy it.|::::|bag groceries
