Career choice - is it better to pursue what youamp;#39;re interested in, or what is more useful and earns you more $? -
so, i m in high school and i m wondering what i should study in college and what kind of career i should pursue. on one hand i m interested in social sciences, and those seem to be fairly easy for me. i was always into psychology, social studies, literature, history, criminology, etc. but those require many years of education and honestly i m not a big fan of school :( i like to do everything at my own pace, without people pushing me. and to become a psychologist or criminologist, i would have to get a PhD, or something. but on the other hand i could go into business, finance, etc. i know a bunch of people who easily got a job with just a bachelor s degree. i honestly don t have any interest in this field, but it s not hard, and the classes are fine. i pretty much understand it, but it s kinda boring lol. so what should i do? go into something that interests me more, or just go for what s easier and what i could use to earn more money faster? and maybe later on pursue my dream career and move more towards my hobbies? what do you think?|::::|LOL.. i feel u!! i ve always been interested in stuff like criminology and social studies, but also in love with performing arts, directing, etc. i think its moreimportant to find a job tht fits ur interests but also gives u money, becuz nuthin comes easy no matter what anybody says. trust me, do whatever it takes to get a job tht fits ur interests, makes u happy, and gives u money. thats what im going to do when i graduate.|::::|It kinda pisses me off when people think they can get into business quot;for the moneyquot;. They eventually fail because they had no interest in it in the first place. You can t do something 50+ hours a week if you don t love it, and you sure can t learn it if your heart s not in it. I find that kinda... tacky personally. BTW, if you think it s quot;easierquot; to be an accountant, come to work w/ me one day and fight w/ people over how to handle their money or spend 45 days looking for 5 cents missing from an $8 Million account and see how quot;easyquot; you think it is.
