Will Obamaamp;#39;s recovery infrastructure plan put more money in the hands of an already corrupt system? -

To build a 21st century economy, we must engage contractors across the nation to create jobs rebuilding our crumbling roads, bridges, and schools. --- Obama In yet another vague address to the people that said nothing new just the same old talking points. Obama plans to give our money to more bought out contractors who will continue to make Mexico rich by employing illegal workers. Obama plans to shower contractors who are known for going grossly over budget with our hard earned tax dollars. Who is he really creating jobs for? How does construction jobs help people who have been laid off from banks and department stores etc.? Who is going to work these jobs when extensive training would cost way too much money?|::::|This answer is mostly for Panda... I live in Chicago, I have a Governor under investigation, another in prison, and three others who have spent time in prison.. So, who will I speak to and trust. You don t think most Government officials run the same way.. Also I work construction, I have worked city and government jobs It is the biggest joke I have ever seen. They toss unqualified workers in and it only cost the contractors money. The people in congress have already given themselves raises. Where in the world is this money suppose to come from that will create these jobs. Then when the two or three years are up we will have the biggest lay-off this Nation has ever seen.|::::|Thanks Report Abuse |::::|During his Transistion period he has gathered all the Governors in each state together to pinpoint areas of concern with their infrastructure. Obama is going directly to the people on this one . . he is going to the grassroots of our nation, very similar to what he did during his election campaign. He is finding out what the people want and need. If you have any issues with what the Governor of your state is requesting than now is the time to make yourself heard. You can also leave comments on just about any issue at the Obama Transition Team site: Open Govenment: Join the Discussion http://change.gov/page/content/discussse...|::::|Would you rather give it all to the uber rich and hope they will hire a few people? Given that the majority of jobs are working for small business owners - not the uber rich. Given that nobody will produce more when there is no demand - and giving money to the uber rich is a supply side solution that does not increase demand one bit. So I guess we can just make a few really rich folk even more rich and maybe they will buy enough cars to put all the factory workers back to wrok. But I seriously doubt they would.|::::|Obama s infrastructure plan is nothing short of a way to ease us into socialism. All these people will be laid off in a few years and relying on the government for support. In exchange for the auto industry bailouts, he wants to be able to choose the CEOs of GM and Ford. Shouldn t that be up to the stockholders?|::::|This whole idea smacks of corruption. Maybe Obama will create an infrastructure Czar to oversee the cost of goods used in idea. The only people who will be put to work are illegals. But I suspect the part of Obama s plan we haven t heard is that he will create a mandatory work for welfare checks system. It s not a bad idea at first glance, but when the government steps in and tells a person who they will work for, how much they will paid, etc. we ve moved into some other area that is too frightening to think about.|::::|maybe if you would give him a chance to see if it works (and I hope that it will ) - there is one thing that we know won t work and that s the crap we have been getting for the pass 8 years - so stop trying the predict the future and embrace it for the change that it will bring and be thankful that we don t have the quot;same oquot; quot;same oquot; running things - then you will be able to predict the future and it will be VERY DIM|::::|So, your answer is quot; The fundamentals of our economy are strong.quot; If you put any sector back to work, more jobs will be created at the banks and department stores. They will need to cash those paychecks and spend the earnings. Think of it as the snowball rolling downhill effect.|::::|That s nothing. Wait until you throw in the grossly inefficient government to manage the whole thing, bringing out decades old wage legislation like Davis Bacon to require far above market wages be paid for substandard work, minority and women owned business preferences, you name it.|::::|What are they going to do with the workers who are currently employed by these contractors but are idle due to lack of work at the current time, fire them so they can hire new ones and call those New Jobs or are they going to try something like put them in the job bank so there are no jobs lost?.
