What is the easiest way to maintain a personal financial budget? -

I have a problem keeping a budget for myself, and get into wasteful spending practices quite often. I earn decent money, and have money saved up, but realize that I could be doing better financially if I was a little more disciplined, and stopped buying things on impulse or wasting money on things I dont really need(ex. daily Starbucks). I have made budgets in the past, but usually don t stick with them. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips on maintaining a budget, that is easy to adhere to? Thanks.|::::|You need a software package called Microsoft Money. You might be able to find an old version for free on the net. It will show you pie charts and graphs on where your money is going. I trying to save 5% more this year. The best part, it keeps track of my checking account balance. Most people don t do that - they just look online. You can set up reminders of when bills are due. Another best part - it lets you set up a budget - I don t do that part - since I m more focused on a savings goal. Some people are budget oriented, I m savings oriented. /|::::|Judy has an excellent suggestion. However, I would look at a free online personal budget program. There are two good ones I know of: Quicken (www.quickenonline.com) and Mint (www.mint.com). As I mentioned, both are free, allow you to link accounts (bank, credit card, loans, investment) and download transactions automatically, set your monthly budget categories and show your spending history trends amongst different categories. I have used both, but prefer Mint slightly more.

My dad is still cheating on my mum!? -

well you know what, in october we went to my dad s friend s restaurant in town as a family, to celebrate my mums birthday. and to make it worse my dad s mistress was the waitress! i seriously could feel a feeling in the atmosphere, cause i can tell when someones pretending or something Idk how to describe. yesterday my mums friend (my dads friends wife) told her that all this jazza happened within the last few weeks. they found out they were together and yelled at that woman and she went back to vietnam. and my dad got a yelling too. i would still hear him on the phone when my mum was in the shower, and had short conversations.. and then i start thinking, like what if shes in the country, cause my dad sometimes didn t come home and you know those 5-10 short conversations while my mum was in the shower... so i had thoughts she was in the country, but it was only a thought, i had no strong evidence. i just feel SO horrible for my mum cause my dad s been spending crap loads of money and not earning any, while my mum has to support the family, kids, cook dinner, earn money with her minimum wage. PLUS we have to try to fight through this recession! and i have to try and save money with my underpaid wage just incase my mum needs the money :( when my sister or someone tells me all this crap, i become so numb... but then when im like expressing myself i just feel like crying.. like right now What do I do? how do i act towards my dad? I know this is kinda between them.. not me, but I really want to do something, my mum seems so fragile sometimes ! I seriously don t know what to do. We are going to Vietnam in a few days and might see her. If I do i m gonna freaking slap her and cuss at her. I means he saw us as a family together having dinner, ON MY MUMS BIRTHDAY! why didn t she stop?|::::|I know it is hard when a member of the Family finds out that the Father they thought was the best Father, and Husband in the World proved them wrong is something that is not to be forgiven easily. I think that you should have a talk with your Mom, about your suspicions and tell her what your feelings are of this situation, if you explain to her that you feel like what he is doing is not only wrong, but is going to cause a lot of Heartaches between the Family, your Mom should have a long talk with your dad, and she needs to make him understand that she is not going to let him make her a laughing stock, of this affair he is having. If your Dad is the cheating kind than i think your Mom should leave him to make him see that what he does is not appreciated by the Family and if he someday wants to come back to you all than he should change the way he is acting or he will end up being the loser.|::::|YOU SHOULD YELL AT YOUR DAD LET HIM KNOW HOW YOU FEEL AND ASK HIM WHY IS HE DOING THIS TO THE FMAILY! LET HIM KNOW HOW MUCH IT HAS AFFECTED YOU. TRY DOING THIS WHILE YOUR MOM ISN T AROUND, MAYBE HTEN HE WILL UNDERSTAND!|::::|you should tell your mom|::::|You need to be calm. One day say quot;mum dad i need to talk to you please. keep an open mind.quot; or just talk to your dad. say quot;this is affecting me. it s tearing me up inside and i just don t understand why you re doing this to us, to me.quot; after having a calm discussion and confronting him about it then maybe it ll be okay. I hope that everything goes well and i m sorry for what s already happened. Good luck!

After doing loads and loads of research on-line, I stumbled onto a program called Zero2Riches. This is a FREE referral program that works by recruiting others to visit a site and participate in various trial offers that will hopefully lead to the subscriber signing on full time, which I understand many of them do. I will explain how the system can say it s free in just a moment. I started about a month ago, and I have approx $600 sitting in my PayPal account because I almost can t believe that s my money. You have a choice, you could either sign up without a sponsor, or with sponsor/mentor. If you choose to go with a sponsor, you WILL be reimbursed the small $5 investment. If you choose to go without, you will still have to pay the initial $5, but you won t be reimbursed. It s a really great program in my opinion, i would suggest you check it out for yourself. Check out www.chrislikes2share.com for more information. Check out the videos on the site, they re very informative. I have already signed up several people that have all told me how happy they were with the results. What are contextual and placement targeted ads? Are all placement ads CPM ads? -

Are placement ads synonymous to CPM ads in google adsense? If answer is yes, then why am I getting money only when there are clicks for placement ads(placement ads should earn money for impressions, not for clicks)?|::::|Placement-targeted campaigns (originally called site-targeted campaigns) consist of ad groups that are identical to ones in traditional content campaigns except for one key attribute: ad groups contain lists of Web sites, not keywords. Placement-targeted ad groups can include all content ad types: text, static, and animated graphics in a wide variety of sizes and formats -- even video. Advertisers can choose whether to be charged on a CPM (define) or CPC (define) basis. The ability to choose specific sites is powerful, but Google goes it one better: advertisers can choose to display their ads on specific pages within a site, or even subsections of pages. For example, advertisers can choose to advertise on The New York Times Web site in the business, fashion, health, travel, or sports section. The Google content network is huge and growing rapidly -- some say new sites are entering at the rate of at least 100,000 per month. Google recently shared an overview of the some of the best-known sites. Almost every major media channel is represented, from leading magazine and newspaper publishers to television networks. How do advertisers find which Web sites display Google AdWords content ads? Google provides a placement tool that lets you pick sites by either browsing a list of categories, entering keyword topics, listing specific URLs of sites you know (or hope) display AdWords ads, or selecting demographic slices you want to target. In each case, the tool digs into the pool of site publishers and lets you choose which sites (or site subsections) will carry your ads. Unfortunately, the placement tool can be inefficient. It frequently suggests sites that bear no resemblance to the category or topic you choose. Worse, it neglects to show appropriate sites that may be perfect matches for your ads. Google is aware of these inefficiencies and is working on improving the tool. You can frequently find additional participating sites by doing a Google search on a term related to your product/service, and then pasting the list of sites displayed into the placement tool s List URLs field. You can count on finding between 25 and 40 percent more sites than the placement tool reports via the Browse Categories or Describe Topics methods. Placement-targeted campaigns offer several advantages over content campaigns. Because you can target ads to specific sites, you can tailor your ads to appeal specifically to the readers of site groups (for example, an apparel retailer could display travel clothing ads on travel sites), or even tailor ads to readers of individual sites. A soap pad manufacturer could create special ads for the Boston.com sites that say quot;Beantown Loves Brillo!quot; Another big advantage: you can set individual bids for each site. By running reports that show the CTR (define) and conversion rate data for each site, you can fine tune each site s maximum CPC to achieve acceptable (or hopefully great) ROI for each site. Yet another huge advantage: placement-targeted text ads get stretched and enlarged to fill an entire ad unit -- the mythical, seldom-spotted expanded text ad. If a publisher has specified that a strip of four AdWords ads should appear in a banner at the bottom of a page, placement-targeted ads will muscle the other ads off the ad unit and be displayed big and bold. Next week we ll pick up with more advice on getting the most out of placement-targeted campaigns, including some surprising news about quality score.|::::|When setting up a quot;placement targeted adquot;, the advertiser can choose to pay by CPM or CPC. Most choose CPC so this is likely why you are only getting paid for click throughs

Job seekers allowance and other equivalents? -

Why should people who are out of work get so much money free that they can afford the biggest television in the world and spend all the time they want sitting there watching it. I think they should be forced to work in various public sector jobs, like roadsweepers etc to earn the money they get. and if they are unwilling to do this then it shows that they are unwilling to get a job. in this case the government should issue quot;milk tokensquot; for basic everyday necessities and that s it, take away their benefit income and show them how crap life can be without a job. and then they will go and get one. does anyone agree? give reasons for and against|::::|hey now hold on a minute ive just lost my job trough redundancy let me tell you its not all a bed of roses as you think i get £120 per fortnight i would also love to get a job but there is none around at the moment where i live i have been offered a job but that does not start till march so next time you want to slag off people who are out of work think again this year i couldn t even buy my two kids anything for xmas but that s ok isn t it because we are all just layabouts i would do anything to get myself out of this hell hole but ignorant people like you really annoy me if you think its that easy why don t you try it get a life and dont paint everyone with the same brush|::::|NOT everyone on benefits is a scrounger. I am a lone parent not through choice, i was married once. Trust me i have to live on £59 a week on income support and that is to help with everything, i get no child maitenence and i definately aint living the high life. Its the people that continue to have child after child, whilst living on benefits are the irresponsable ones and whom manage to make money out of the benefits system.|::::|How do you know that they paid for that television by cash? it could be buy as you view, it could be on ticky they might pay so much a week. But on the other hand they might be playing the government by claiming seperately alot of people do that nowadays because they greedy f**kas! There are two different types of people on jobseekers allowance etc, the people who choose to be on it because they cant be botherd to work and the others that have no choice because they cant get any work! At the minute i dont care about people on jobseekers allowance and stuff, ive been on it, ive paid my tax for it, everyone will need the governments money one day, even if they working or not!|::::|basically i think that england should not have got rid of its engineering and manufacturing basis. i believe that some people want to work and others don t, and you cannot tar everyone with the same brush, some people like to do engineering , some people like to do woodwork, some people would like to do boring stuff, its something to do with your makeup. If you really think that, its strange. and sad. I must also say if you are brought up in that sort of culture, where you get something for nothing, it must be really hard to get out of, lol.|::::|I agree that the Government should find a job for everyone that wants one .. Unfortunately, they have no interest in doing so .. maybe because people earning money (and thus paying Taxes) tend to vote Tory :-)|::::|I think you are living in dreamland, could you live off £60 per week as a single person in this day and age, pay electric, gas, water and food bills out of it. What you have to remember is that most people that claim benefits have worked and paid their contributions, some people have been made redundant and lost their jobs for various different reasons. It is a myth that people on benefits are living the life of riley. Just be lucky if you have a job, you could be in the unemployment queue anytime soon the way things are going with the economy. Nobody wants to struggle every week to pay bills etc, unless they enjoy punishing themselves. People on benefits need help not criticism. Hope this answers your question.

How much notice do i give to leave a part time job? -

Im a 40 year old stay home mom. i applied for a part time position in which my future employer said it would only be 2 days a week and every other weekend. they have lost 2 employees since i started and now i working 4 days a week. i dont really have to work, just wanted to earn a little spending money. i feel bad but financially its costing me more to go work than to stay home. ive only been there a month. how much should i give?|::::|It all depends on just how guilty you feel about leaving. technically you should always give a 2 week notice when quitting a job. But in my experience when I have tried to give a 2 week notice in the past they have said don t bother coming back. And it depends on whether or not you ever want to work there again. So if they are nice and respectable to you - give the 2 weeks notice. Otherwise just inform them thing s aren t working out and you won t be back. And by the way you haven t been there 90 days so you re still in the probation period - so if they could fire you at a moments notice you could also quit at a moments notice. That s what the probation period is :) Have a nice day!|::::|If you are working in a quot;work-at-willquot; job, meaning you have signed no contract and are not part of a union, then you can leave at any time for any reason, and they can let you go for the same. If the hours you are working no longer make sense for you, then tell them. Let them know that you are no longer able to keep the schedule as it has changed. It is professional courtesy to give a two week notice, and I would suggest doing that. But if you want to leave before two weeks, tell them so when you give notice. Be prepared for them to work with you if they value your contribution and amend the schedule to fit what you agreed to. If you simply are no longer interested in working, be honest and let them know.|::::|2 weeks notice that way in case you want the job back you can for giving prior notice of leaving

Unless you are one of those few people out there, you have to earn your money. Regardless, my siblings are alive to find their own way in life. I am not the person who finds their way. Ok, my mom is turning 39 in April. Since I live near DC you can take a bus to New York for only $60 ($30 their $30 back). My future plans-- want suggestions please (time appreciated)!? -

Okay, so I m fourteen and I have decided that i wanted to be a pilot ever since the beginning of 8th grade (im in 9th now) I want to be a pilot for Boeing 747 / Commercial -- So I was thinking I would go to either the airforce for four years or pay for 60 hours of flight to get my license and then work my way up to the commercial license teaching so I can fly and earn money at the same time? can i do that? And if i join the airforce, (willingly -- volunteer) does that mean I can choose weither or not I will have to go off to war? or is it if they need you, they will use you? If you were / are a parent what do you think about my plan: stupid or life treatening or thinks that this kid knows what he wants to be and it s safer than driving a car? thanks for your opinions guys!|::::|The Air Force will train you to be a pilot if you qualify. You will need to check with an Air Force recruiter to see if you do qualify. Pilots do go off to war. That is the reason they train pilots. If they tell you to go then you must go. You can also learn to fly at your local airport. Most airports have a flight school and you can take a discovery flight for about $100 and decide if this is right for you. Flying a plane is much safer than driving a car. Good luck.|::::|Don t be an idiot. Flying is relatively safe, even as an AF pilot or an Army aviator (yes, Army is an option). When I was your age I wanted to do the same thing and even owned my own flying school. First things first...get good grades, even if it kills you! By good I mean straight As! Participate in a sport and do well in the sport. Participate in student government or a civic club. Protect your eyes as much as possible (you need 20/20 and even playing games 1 hour a day can affect your eyesight). Get on your Senator s and Representative s radar while you are young and promising! Attend an Academy Day if they offer one and know what you are up against as far as their nominations go and how many of their nominations have been appointed and what profile they fit into. If you have a way to get on VP Joe Biden s radar then do so and hope that he and President-elect Obama are re-elected! Once you have the straight As, understand the math and science like a nerd, play sports like a jock, politic like an honest politician or do good things for your fellow citizens you will have a shot at an Academy nomination. After the nomination comes the competition against thousands of other wannabe flyboys or flygirls. After you get your acceptance letter from one of the Academies you have 4 years at the Academy (Naval, Army, AF, and Coast Guard Academy all have flight slots; the Merchant Marine Academy does not) to prove yourself. After that you have to compete to fly and get a flight slot; chances are you might have participated in flying activities while at the Academy. The USCGA does not use elected officials for it s nomination process and doesn t have as many flight slots as the other academies. As for the war - War ain t fun and we have a track record of fighting somewhere every decade in the past 3 generations. Lately it s been the mideast. Before that was towards South America. Before that was Asia. Before that was the world. Before that was also the world. If you serve in the military in any flight capacity you can pretty much guarantee that you will go to war. Now, in 7 years when you are flying as an academy grad, you might be flying in a war zone for 8-12 hours a day and then driving the 20 mintues home and spending time with the kids in Nevada or Georgia or Colorado or North Carolina or wherever. Why? Your flight time will be flying 2 UAVs or pointing and clicking. Not fun. That s why I recommend the Naval Academy or USCGA or West Point. You get real flight time and you will possibly be in a combat zone. Most of the Academies require 4 years in the Academy plus 6-8 years for the flight programs and training. If not then it s usually 4-6 years as an Officer in the branch. You are taking the risk of not being able to fly. Once that s said and done you have to figure out how you are going to jump into the right seat of the 747. It s not going to happen immediately unless you were flying heavy iron for the Air Force. Flying a C-17 ain t glamorous but I will bet a dollar to a doughnut that a MAJ or LTC with 2000 C-17 hours (even if 1900 of that was on autopilot) will beat out a MAJ or LTC F-15 driver with 3000 hours any day of the week. Why? First of all no one wants a pilot jockeying around their 747 full of angry passengers or quiet cargo even though the seven four is capable of it. Second is that an F-15 driver is likely not used to sharing his/her flight deck with 1-3 other people. The reality is that the C-17 driver and the F-15 driver will both get the job with the airline and may even train together. ...but if it were one or the other the airline will scoop them up. In this economy, however, these pilots are likely going to find themselves in the right seat of a CRJ or ERJ building time on the plane and waiting for an interview with the airlines. ...or they are going to have a friend that is in the Guard with them (most pilots don t completely retire from flying but go to a Guard or Reserve unit...who would want to quit flying) and that person will know of a job flying cargo in the 74 or know of an opening at FedEx or UPS flying. Your focus for the next 3 1/2 years.... * Get good grades and take classes with concentrations in the sciences and math. * Contact your Senator s offices and get on their radar. They can tell you how their past nominations succeeded (or failed) and what the average was (3.8 GPA, sport and leadership (baseball co-captain, wrestling state champion, JV football captain), Key Club chapter VP, student VP, etc.) for the people that earned their nomination and the people that made it into the Academy. If you get one of the invitations to go to D.C. (usually Boy s State or something similar) take it; most of the time the offer will come from the Senator s office. * Consider playing a sport that you are GREAT at for your next few years. If not, concentrate on one of the other areas but learn to love running, sit-ups, push-ups, pull-ups, and build endurance. * Consider student government somewhere, even as a representative for the Sophmores. * Consider writing for your school newspaper. Sometimes this is fun and sometimes the people running the school newspaper are not much fun. Our teacher was fun but the students were extremely manipulative. * Consider a program, such as the Key Club, Boy Scouts (get the Eagle Scout if you do this; don t do it 1/2 way), or even the Civil Air Patrol, to show civic leadership. * Consider visiting an academy in your Sophmore or Junior year. West Point is a few hours from NYC and is beautiful. Watching the AF cadets skydive, soar, and fly in the clear air in Colorado is great. Many Academies have Academy Days for prospective candets and their parents. * Pay for the Kaplan course for your SAT. Study your a-double-S off for that test and get a high score! Take the pre-SAT or pre-ACT (think it s called PLAN now) in your Sophmore year. * Consider the High School to Flight School Warrant Officer Candidate program in the Army. There is a downside; if you flunk out of W.O.C. you may have to go onto the enlisted side until you finish 2 years of a 4 year degree. You will have a bunch of helo time and turbine time and FLYING HELOS BEATS THE SNOT OUT OF CLIMBING TO 500 FEET AND MASHING THE AUTOPILOT BUTTON!!!! ...maybe flying the Chinook is boring for some... * STAY in the top 10% of your graduating class; top 5% is better. * Run to live and live to run! There is a lot of aerobic exercise. Strength isn t as much as a factor as overall fitness. Benching 305 is great but it s not fun doing 20 pull-ups with a 205 lb body in a 6 2quot; frame when a 190 lb body and a 225lb bench will do! * Consider alternatives, such as the Army and AF ROTC programs, particularly the ROTC program at University of North Dakota. They have an EXCELLENT aviation school and an excellent ROTC program. There are also some grass roots routes available and it s tough building the hours. It s almost better to go to somewhere that s integrated with a regional carrier and a college, such as MESA Airlines and MESA s flight school or go to an aviation college, such as UND or Ohio State University or Ohio University. ...and it is safer than driving a car. I have had 3 car wrecks and never had a plane or helo or hot air balloon crash. I have (and my parents have), however, had some expensive fuel bills. GOOD LUCK!!|::::|Going the air force route will be the best resume kicker for a pilot. You can try working your way up and if you re dedicated you can do it, but commercial airlines like that air force/navy pilot experience on a resume. Its good eye candy and shows you can work under stress and pressure. Try to apply to the US air force academy, because only officers actually fly. To do that, you will have to be recommended by your senator. Talk to your school guidance counselor. They can help you as far as grades and preparing while in high school. Good luck!

Anyone good with money.? -

I am buying my boyfriend a blue ipod nano for christmas, and i already have $82 plus $11 in change that i have to take to the bank an cash in. I want to save $160 because the ipods are $150, but the extra $10 is for taxes and everything. So as of right now i have $93 dollars. How can i earn the rest of the money. I already have a job working 4 days a week, but my paycheck isn t much. Since i m only 16 still in school and don t get many hours. I plan on putting $20 more dollars in there with my next paycheck. Any suggestions on how to get the rest of the money? |::::|Sweetheart, this is much too expensive a gift. No boyfriend wants his girl to spend all her money buying him a gift. This would make me feel terribly guilty, and I bet your boyfriend would feel the same. You must really love this guy and your unselfish attitude is truly commendable, but he needs to feel like he is not a financial drain on you. Get him something small; it doesn t have to be expensive or fancy as truly men just want to know we were remembered. I hope this helps; good luck!|::::|Well, if you cannot afford it so easily, I would recommend that you buy something cheaper. It is a Christmas gift right? So the most important thing is your feeling toward him. Not the price of the gift. I love my husband so much and I wish I could buy him a really nice gift that he has wanted for a long time. But, I cannot. It costs a lot and again, if I cannot, I will not buy it. I like my mother in law, but I will not be able to spend a lot of money on her either. So I will spend only 10 dollars for her. That s only I can afford. |::::|I beg you, please listen to Kager s advice - he s right. Question for newzealanders or people who have lived there? -

would a person living in wellington earning 2500nzd a month AFTER TAX no rent/mortgage to pay for(he has no debts, his house is already entirely paid off) would be considered an average earner? also, this person doesn t drive, he uses public transport in order to save money. thoughts?|::::|Public Transport is very cheap. Is there any way to earn from home? -

I asked this q yesterday also, but it seems all are greedy amp; want me to click on some specific sites of their own with which they wld earn money. My clicking on their sites means money for them. If US$200,000 will satisfy your needs then I can genuinely help you. But it will require some effort and contribution on your part... after all being in a successful home based business is no different to any other business... it s just that you have a convenient place from which to do some good work. I run a successful home based business and everyone who joins me in that business can earn whatever level of income they choose (large or small). I assure you... you will not make me rich... my efforts will do that. And it can be the same for you. Just to put your mind at ease, my business is not MLM. Why we are here on the earth?---think seriously after reading this..? -

Dont laugh it is a very serious question.... Some might say to achieve a GOAL.... Some will say to enjoy to the fullest.... Some will say to earn money and die..... Some will say just to explore the whole world the different locations,Food,etc.. Some will say to do some social work or to find real love,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,etc,,,,,,,,,,,, But is it that we are here just to enjoy, earn or for running after a goal,.... Why?????? We all are living....but dont know why we are here... Dont think that I m a stupid guy asking this kind of question...Just give some time to think about this question.....and then find the answer....|::::|To Love God To Serve God And To Honor God We need to also love others that how we should all live life|::::|that s right. some people believe it will end because of what their religion is teaching them but the true is the world doesn t end, we died and reborn again into another family or can became animals, any living thing. that s why living as a human being is a gift to experience and some of us are wasting it. some people will say i want to kill myself, they have to know that what they didn t want to face that course them to kill them one way or the other they will back here on earth and will face the same fear until they face. what we life behind we come back in to another family or any living things and will have to face the fear we left behind. that s why we have to be kind to one another if not many birth will happen and most of the children will still be miserable children because of what they have done in the past life.|::::|I am always thinking about this question, and now I am thinking about Adam and Eve and their sin to be fallen on the earth. All the above list is not the reason of being here on the earth.I am still thinking about this issue.|::::|I do not think you are stupid because you asked this question. In fact, most of us think about this at some point of time in life. I think we have come here to understand life, to understand good, evil, courage, struggle, greed, contentment, peace, anger, happiness, ananda (bliss), jealousy, love, hatred....everything. No other species except human beings are able to experience so many emotions and learn from the. By going through different experiences we come to know about these emotions, their importance and realise which ones are good and which ones bad. We understand God and with it try to get peace in our lives. To know that God is our ultimate objective, our ultimate desire where we can find peace and bliss is what we are here for. This realisation does not come easily and God is always there for us to help us out. This does not mean that one should leave his house, family and job in search of moksha . But, I believe our purpose on Earth is to consciously bring forth our spiritual center. Succeeding here, even if only by degrees, will help to decrease planetary unnecessary suffering which, in turn, will help to manifest the source of all consciousness--divine love. Just to add to this point, here s some enlightening information that I happened to encounter while watching a movie (how we realize our spiritual center is not as important as getting the job done): What intimate knowledge of reality can we claim? What personal insight into our own nature can we claim? Last night I took another look at Stigmata, one of my favorite movies. Just before the end credits ran, these words appeared on the screen: “The kingdom of God is within you and all around you and not in buildings of wood and stone. Split a piece of wood and I am there, lift a stone and I am there.” These words, words taken from the gospel of Thomas, were recorded in the Aramaic language—the language of Jesus--some nineteen hundred years ago. The next words that appeared on the screen were these: “Whoever discovers the meaning of these sayings will not taste death.”

How can a student earn multiple scholarships? -

I ve heard that you can earn multiple scholarships, and once the cost of the tuition and book fees and other expenses are covered, the university will give you the rest of the money to use as you like. How do you do this?|::::|You apply for more than one scholarship and (hopefully) get awarded more than one. It is not necessarily true that you will get the extra money for yourself with scholarship money. Most will list exactly what they will pay for and what they won t in the fine print when you apply.

Am I a teenage shopaholic? ? -

I have only had an allownace two times in my life. The first, I was 13 and only got five dollars each week, that only lasted about a month. Now, I am sixteen and I get an allowence of seven dollars a week(I have only had this allowance sence the summer). I have always loved fashion and clothes and would buy just one thing and be happy. Now, I only buy things that are on sale, because when I leave the store I get excited of how much I have saved. After school, I always walk to local stores and buy more than two things. I only spend $30-$40 a month with allownace and extra earned money. I think it is good that I don t spend alot, but I always go out shopping. Even thought I get this high when I m done, I later regret buying the stuff. Today, I just found out that I would recieve and extra $20 from a family member. What is your ideas for survival of educated people in india ? -

roughly out of 1000 graduates( not considered the dropouts and uneducated ) 1person gets employment.he serves for the nation forat leastt 25 years.during the time he has to spend 50% of his earnings for renting a house.another 50% is for all his family needs.this is very little money and how he leads his family life with that money is a v.v.v.v big question.he does not knows anything about the world other than his work and family due to financial problems. when he retires he has to return to his native village because his settelement money is not allows him to live in a simple city itself because the cost of living is too much. the salary what he got when retired is equal in value to the salary he got when joined in the work. nothing he can enjoy in his life.he sacrified his life for nothing. but many people who runs business earns a lot and lives far better in their life (like politicians, contractors, film actors/producers,house/shop renters, money lenders, real estate persons,milk/milk product sellers, small shopoweners,chicken/mutton shop owners, commercial vehicle oweners, grocery shop oweners etc...) for all those business needs no or very less brain comparing to educated person needs. farmers - they are eraning very least in the society. common man - living a slavery life, begger s life. so a well educated and employed who thinks and uses all his talents for his industory/nation is beeing crushed by barbaric pay standerd. when a educated tries to solve a problem using his talent / during the time a business man earns money and grows by using simple ideas, this process leads a intelegent educated people to die for dirty business man s luxery life. How to earn $1,000 dollars in a year? -

OK, my eigth grade class trip next year always goes to Washington DC. I just found out this costs $1,000.00. So, I have to earn (yes, earn, not save) a thousand dollars in exactly fifteen months. Any ideas? I can t save lunch money because, my school has this weird service where you pay ahead then buy the food, and when you run out you just pay more. I can t get a job, I m only thirteen. I get allowance, but my family s low on money at the moment, so I haven t gotten one in like a year. At this moment, I know I have $100 dollars with me, and probally, 50 in those savings accounts your uncle gets you for Christmas when your six.So yeah just any ideas, please?|::::|Set small goals for yourself so it doesn t seem to daunting. $1,000 in 15 months is less than $2.50 a day. As others mentioned, there are many jobs that someone your age could do. I don t know if they pertain to your area, but there s yard work, babysitting, dog walking, car washing, dog washing, house cleaning, paper routes, odd jobs of almost any sort. Don t get discouraged. You can also mow the lawn for people, and rake leaves. it wont be a good pay, but it might work, basically anything you can do in the neighbour hood, just make sure you put up losts of posters. and dont make a lot of plans, cuz sometimes unexpected things may happen when babysitting. Other than that, have a good trip :)

im saving up for a keyboard and i got most of the money for christmas but i still need like $30 but the problem is i need to think of chores or something please share your ideas|::::|Do chores around the house for pocket money Mow someone s lawn Clear someone s driveway of snow Take people s dogs for walks Babysit xx|::::|I suggest you look around, find a need and fill it! If you are underage, you can t work, but you can start a business of your own! Isn t the Government great!! Starting your own business sounds hard, but it really isn t. Get books from your library, like Fast Cash for Kids, 2nd edition to get some details and ideas. You do need to get your parents to buy in to the idea though, so they will let you do it. What you would do depends on the time you have, your likes/dislikes, etc. Check out some library books on starting weekend businesses to see if you can find anything you are interested in, and are able to do. Make sure you find something you like and are good at, it will show through in your work. Satisfied customers will be glad to refer others to you. You need to find a need, then fill it. Look for things people are too busy to do, or that they don t like to do. Finding something that gets dirty and needs redoing is a great thing too. The secret is to do it for labor, but little to no actual cost, so you make a good profit! Some ideas to get you thinking: Cleaning - house, apt, office, kids rooms Removing cobwebs - McMansions and churches Window washing - real estate agents / home sellers / owners Mowing / yardwork Organizing - closets, attics, kids rooms, basement Car detailing Tutor subject(s) great in, 2-3 times a week in summer also Dog walking - people are always too busy Pet sitting for neighbors - in your fenced-in back yard Even Doggie doo doo is a business!! Libraries are great, and free! No need to invest money in lots of books on the subject. But, you do need to do some research before you jump in and start your business. Best of luck!! ~ Suzi :)|::::|YoYo, I think it is great you want to earn the money rather than have your parents just fork it over. So maybe I can give you an idea or two to make extra change when you need it for a good cause. Winter: offer to help an elderly person to rearrange furniture or discard furniture so their home is more comfortable. Now be cool. Offer an afternoon of this service for five dollars. Yes that is cheap but old people like to talk and will lead to other small jobs. Pay the price for one to get several. Winter: Offer to shovel the sidewalk if in snow country, or rake leaves if in more southern climates. Rake, bag and curbside for an afternoon, again for $15.00--less if it will not take an afternoon, 4 hours. This too will lead to more leads, so those charge abit more, but always do an excellent job. Winter: Elderly people do not like to get out during cold weather, offer a special call errand service. Print up a little brochure saying you will run errands at $5.00 an hour, minimum. So the first hour is always $5.00, but if it goes to one hour fifteen minutes--it is Five Dollars--Give on the customer s side, you will be surprised how many times they will tell you to keep it and sometimes give a tip--always lean to the customer, but also always do a great job. Winter: Elderly people do not like to get out in the cold but their pets have to: Offer dog walking, same rates as the errand job, maybe include walking several neighbor s dogs if compatible. Go slow with adding additional dogs. This could be a real reoccurring money makers during the winter. If you say you will be there at four o clock, be there at four o clock. You might could walk one at four, five and six every day or every other day. Let me see that is five dollars for one, and fifteen for three times three times per week--gosh that was easy. that should get you started.|::::|The Old Fashioned Lemonade Stand :)

How do I find out my tax code ? -

Next month I m going to be working full time for the first time. I ve been working part time for a few months but haven t earned enough to be charged Tax. Is there a way I can find out how much money out of my wages is going to be deducted to pay for Tax and National Insurance ??|::::|Your code number will probably be 603L, representing personal tax-free allowance of £6035. Is this full-time work going to be with the same employer? I am assuming yes. You should have signed form P46 when starting your part-time job. You are probably on that code number already. As you haven t been using your full tax allowance, you will have an unused backlog to set against future earnings. This means you won t pay as much tax as you would as if you were at that level of pay for the full year. National Insurance is deducted in accordance with each payday. Look at www.hmrc.gov.uk/rates for tax and NIC allowances, and rates you pay over that. You can also see a computation at www.listentotaxman, although that won t take your allowance backlog into account.|::::|You might like to look at the link below. At best they are probably good for $50 a month. Anyone telling you that you can make loads of cash quick on the internet is full of it. Following them is the easiest way to get scammed. As a martial artist would you play these video games? -

I am trying to think of a way to earn money for the martial arts club at school. We have Wii s, 360s, and PS3s at the rec center at our school, and I was thinking a good way to raise money is to have a video game tournament related to martial arts that anybody in the school can participate in for a nominal fee. Also 1st 2nd and 3rd place winners would get a prize like a gift certificate and we would sell food and drinks during the tournament. Anyways the games I was thinking about having are the Soul Caliber, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, Dead or Alive Would you enjoy playing those games or any other game? Also would you personally enjoy more quot;realisticallyquot; based martial arts fighting games like Tekken or would you also enjoy a regular fighting game such as Smash Bros., Dragon Ball Z, Street Fighters etc...? Thanks in advance for your opinion|::::|I guess I m old school. I would go with: Street Fighter 2 Karate Champ (old, old school) Yie Ar Kung Fu (old, old, old school) James|::::|Is Virtua Fighter still around? No magic, just hits and throws. Can t go wrong with Street fighter!|::::|haha why not, i love super smash bros and soul caliber|::::|they actually have a ufc game|::::|No, I play Gear of War 2 and Fifa Soccer|::::|The tournament sounds like a great idea. Maybe have one section for tournament, and one for free play/practice? Definitely keep Tekken. I LURVE that game. :D It has the best fighting engine I ve ever come across, awesome characters, and a very wide array of martial arts and techniques. Plus, it s relatively easy to learn and adapt to the various techniques; and several of the characters are fairly easy to use (Christie and Eddy, for instance) cuz all you have to do is smash random buttons and they ll do SOMETHING cool no matter what. :D I would suggest either Tekeken TAG, or Tekken 5. Probably both. Tekken TAG would be better, I think, because one player can pick two different characters and alternate. I played Dragon Ball Z.... once... eons ago.... it was OK. The controls were a bit hard to figure out. The flashing hadoukens and jumping-in-the-air stuff was fun, though. I ve played racing Mario Bros games several times... those are really fun; Smash Bros sounds like it d be just as good. Mario games are pretty easy to figure out; I think it d be great for attracting people who have only a little experience with games. I have played Mortal Kombat, but I don t really like it. The fighting animation is choppy and stilted; and you can ward off just about ANY attack with one block, which I find rather boring. Plus, most of the characters are creepy and ugly, and rather two-dimensional. The blood and many of the gorier techniques are pretty over-the-top, too. But it s very popular with my brother and his friends. :-/ If you do use MK, I d suggest you turn down the blood level as low as possible to ward off concerns/complaints from teachers or parents. Honestly, I really prefer Tekken to MK, but that s just me. I don t have much experience with other fighting games, though... :( .... mainly cuz I ve got more important things occupying my time... like college.... and real life... :D Another idea to consider: Guitar Hero and Dance Dance Revolution are very, very popular games. I know they re not martial arts games, but you could use those games to attract more students. I have many friends that don t really play videogames except for GH and DDR... which they like very, very much. Good luck! :) lt;editgt; oops, also forgot... you can try a wrestling game, like one of those WWF rip-offs... I detest wrestling (at least, the kind with big, burly men in ridiculous BDSM underwear), but my 15-yo.-old cousin and several of his friends are really into it. So..... your call.... lt;edit 2gt; You can t turn the blood and fatalies off on MK? I m pretty sure my brother s copy had that option... I recall he was able to adjust the level of blood and gore (naturally, he turned it up to the max. *rolls eyes*) although I don t know if he could turn it off completely. Either way, I would encourage you to scrap MK because it s got such dark themes. There are plenty of other games to choose from.

How Much Money Do You Earn Working For The C.C.C? -

I am joining the California Conservation Corps in March and i was just wondering if anybody knew how much money you earn monthly.|::::|If you are doing something you enjoy and care about. financial compensation shouldn t matter. For the sake of answering your question 8$ an hour, with bonuses depending on number of hours worked and if you train to be a specialist you can make a little extra cash. It s not a profitable biz, but a rewarding one none the less. Good luck and enjoy.|::::|Often we think in terms of how much money we make. What allows us to have greater life-styles, more things, be happier, and be healthier actually depends upon how we spend our money on and what. It is true that someone making $10/hr will reap economic benefits not possible at $1/hr and a person making $1000/hr certainly has the potential to have a much higher life style than one making $10. Still, the person making $1000/hr can end up in as much, if not more debt, and living pay-check to pay-check just as the $10 per hour person. I will assess that you are currently living somewhere between homeless-and-desitute and mansioned-and-rich. Would you spend $100 for a pair of jeans to go tromping about in the woods? Probably not, you would probably consider it a waste of money. At minimum, the $100 pair of jeans would give you no more functional service than a $10-$40 pair of jeans. Most definitely, if the jeans cost $100 because they had a logo sewn on them or a designer s name on a tag within them they will not provide you more functional service outside of the human social factor. Those brambles in the woods aren t going to be any more or any less impressed by a specific label. The same goes with all of your purchases through out the rest of your life. You must decide just how much luxury you can and will afford reguardless of how much money you do or do not make. Some luxury will have some functional value and others will not. There will be times that you find that the cheapest choices cost much more in the end by the time you get done buying repairs or replacements. There may come a time in your life that you actually quot;needquot; to join clubs, owen more expensice vehicles than you would elsewise, and more as a function of your profession. Remember to think of these as business investments, treat them as such, and keep in mind where the profit and loss lines cross. Always remember that while some things may be immediately gratifying, they come with a financial cost which will be all the more noticable the less money you have to spend. Splurge and spend some on these types of things but, don t let them eat your entire pay check. They include food and beverages out, credit card and interest debt, services, things you want but don t need, and general excesses that have little or nothing to do with value or something you can touch or feel (non-tangibles).

Is it legal? is it balanced? how does it make you feel? -

Imagine hearing the following financial news; quot;Today, the market in sow bellies is down, soybeans are stable, and the market in human embryos is up.quot; Recent developments in embryonic research have moved us one step closer to that scenario. The Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine in Virginia announced last week that they intentionally created human embryos from donor eggs and sperm with the sole purpose of conducting destructive research on nascent humans. The twelve egg donors were paid $1500 to $2000 each, about what the average egg donor receives. The sperm donors were paid about $50 each. So, that means that the money earned from the destruction of human offspring can pay a month s house mortgage for a woman and dinner for two for a man. In a second case, Massachusetts-based company Advanced Cell Technology (ACT) admitted it was attempting to clone human embryos for the purposes of harvesting stem cells from those embryos. ACT is a privately-funded, for-profit biotechnology industry leader. Associated Press biotechnology writer Paul Elias broke the story on Friday, July 13th, that the Jones Institute, ACT, and Geron Inc., a Menlo Park, California, biotechnology company are racing to develop large numbers of embryonic stem cells to supply a market they hope will open up as soon as President Bush makes up his mind about federal funding for embryonic stem cell research. Elias claims that quot;Geron buys leftover frozen embryos from fertility clinics and cracks them open to obtain the stem cells.quot; A market in human beings is not a future possibility, it is a present reality. What these companies are doing can only be described as human embryo farming: producing human embryos for a biotechnological research harvest. Only, instead of quot;farming, quot; we really ought to call it quot;pharmingquot; since what they hope to do is to be the first to make a claim on a pharmaceutical treatment that will earn huge profits. Of course the morning quot;pharm reportquot; won t be announcing that the market in embryos is gaining strength-that would be too traumatic for most Americans. Instead, ACT s ethics committee suggests that a human embryo cloned for research purposes should be called an quot;activated eggquot; or quot;ovasome.quot; What they call their quot;cropquot; or quot;productquot; is a very important marketing decision. The fertility drug Pergonal, for instance, would not likely be as popular if it were called what it is, quot;Derivative of Urine.quot; Market share will not rise as high if their product s name is off-putting or offensive. quot;Ovasomequot; sounds like a breakfast drink to be mixed with milk. quot;I ll just have Ovasome ,quot; you can imagine Dad saying as he comes down the stairs in the morning. Make no mistake about it, this is not silly, it s dangerous. Human beings and their body parts are being bought and sold, created and destroyed, planted and harvested, for profit or potential profit. Human beings and their parts have become commodities, like sow bellies, corn and soybeans. In their recent book, Body Bazaar: The Market for Human Tissues in the Biotechnology Age, Lori Andrews and Dorothy Nelkin argue that the value of human body tissue in the biotechnology age--and the potential for profitable patents derived from it--encourages doctors and researchers to think about people differently . . . Body parts are extracted like a mineral, harvested like a crop, or mined like a resource.quot; Do we really want to view human embryos as either farms or pharms, especially when the harvesting requires the destruction of the embryo? It s one thing to use umbilical cords retrieved after the birth of a baby for research, it s another thing to remove the baby s life-giving tissues for potential profitable pharmaceuticals. Yet the quot;pharmersquot; at Jones Institute, ACT and Geron are encouraging us to commodify tiny humans. These nascent human beings are being imperiled by our own biotechnological avarice. quot;Biotechnological uses, quot; say Andrews and Nelkin, quot;risk running roughshod over social values and personal beliefs.quot; Indeed. Americans should repudiate the commodification of human embryos. They are not crops to be harvested. They are not quot;pharmsquot; to be cultivated. After all, hard as it is to believe, you and I were once tiny human embryos. Didn t we have a right not to be bought and sold at the quot;pharmers market?quot; |::::|I do admit to some uncertainty about just when an embryo might become human , but a blastoderm isn t there yet. What price house should i get? -

I am going to become a pharmacist when I am about age 23. I want to marry when I am 24 or even 25. I want to know how much years I should invest money and when should I buy a house for my family. I know that pharmacists make about 100-140k since I am going to put some extra hours to earn more money. I want to buy at least a pretty luxurious or Victorian style house. I also want to make sure that I don t spend all of my money on a house because I want to enjoy life also. I want to move to Long Island, West Chester or even buy a great house in NYC Queens if they have one. What prices should I get and how many years should it take to realistically buy a nice house. Please give me good advice. Thanks.|::::|There are excellent mortage calculators out there. google: mortage calculator Keep in mind that if you do not put 20% down on a home you will pay that nasty PMI.
