How much notice do i give to leave a part time job? -
Im a 40 year old stay home mom. i applied for a part time position in which my future employer said it would only be 2 days a week and every other weekend. they have lost 2 employees since i started and now i working 4 days a week. i dont really have to work, just wanted to earn a little spending money. i feel bad but financially its costing me more to go work than to stay home. ive only been there a month. how much should i give?|::::|It all depends on just how guilty you feel about leaving. technically you should always give a 2 week notice when quitting a job. But in my experience when I have tried to give a 2 week notice in the past they have said don t bother coming back. And it depends on whether or not you ever want to work there again. So if they are nice and respectable to you - give the 2 weeks notice. Otherwise just inform them thing s aren t working out and you won t be back. And by the way you haven t been there 90 days so you re still in the probation period - so if they could fire you at a moments notice you could also quit at a moments notice. That s what the probation period is :) Have a nice day!|::::|If you are working in a quot;work-at-willquot; job, meaning you have signed no contract and are not part of a union, then you can leave at any time for any reason, and they can let you go for the same. If the hours you are working no longer make sense for you, then tell them. Let them know that you are no longer able to keep the schedule as it has changed. It is professional courtesy to give a two week notice, and I would suggest doing that. But if you want to leave before two weeks, tell them so when you give notice. Be prepared for them to work with you if they value your contribution and amend the schedule to fit what you agreed to. If you simply are no longer interested in working, be honest and let them know.|::::|2 weeks notice that way in case you want the job back you can for giving prior notice of leaving
