I bought a business in Alabama. The broker was a indian who mis-represented the business and mis-guided me. He made me pay double the amount of what the business actually cost. He made some good commission from the seller. I found that he didn t had a broker license. He was not even authorized to work and earn money in US because he is an F1 student. Now, he made me sign a paper that I owe him $7000(which is actually brokage fees) and I will be paying him on 26th of jan. He also had added in the paper that I would have to pay fine $100 everyday If I couldn t pay him on time as a penalty. He also made it notorized from a public notory. Is this legal?? Can Anybody work as a business broker in Alabama? Where can I get the proper solution to this?? Do I really need to pay him?? where can I made a complain about this? I am in heavy loss plz give me the proper solution to this and proper idea about this!!!|::::|Seek legal advice. As for who to call to ask if anybody can work as a business broker in Alabama call the local Court House, if they cannot help you they will give you the phone numbers you need. Ask the Court House or Clerks office where to find out about business broker licenses. And ask about the F1 Student situation. If he is authorized to make this deal with you.
