How do you get RROD(Red Ring of Death) on your XBOX 360? -
I am planning to buy a XBOX 360. Because of RED RING OF DEATH, I am really scared to buy one. Obviously, I don t wanna spend my hard earned money on something that is going to get broken down in 1 year. I heard some rumors that MS(Microsoft) fixed this problem. Is this even true? What should I do? Should I purchase XBOX 360? THANK YOU|::::|The RROD isn t as big a problem as people make it out to be, the media made it into a massive issue. The RROD refers to the 3 red lights you get as a message you have a hardware failure. This can t really be caused by you unless you opened the Xbox up and tampered with something inside. Because it was a common problem Microsoft offer a 3 year cover for hardware problems, so if you Xbox 360 gets this error within 3 years of you buying it then you can get it fixed for free in usually less than a week. Don t worry about it at all, its just a slight hiccup that was over exaggerated to put people of buying the best console on the market today.|::::|quot;The RROD isn t as big a problem as people make it out to bequot; - 65% failure rate sounds like a big problem. quot;you can get it fixed for free in usually less than a week.quot; - Took 4 weeks to repair mine. quot;Don t worry about it at all, its just a slight hiccupquot; - Hilarious, really. Report Abuse |::::|Does the 3 year warranty apply to all xbox s or it something you have to buy? because i just got the red ring of death :( except its only 1 of the quadrants not all 3 or 4 of them. Report Abuse |::::|Some kind of hardware failure I believe. I ve have also seen red ring when the Wire going to the TV was unplugged from the back of the Xbox while it was on. Don t be scared to buy one, it s an irrational fear. I ve had an Xbox for a long time and only had red ring once and I just turned it off and back on and it was fine again. Many people have had it and then sent it back to either Microsoft or the shop where they bought it and got it repaired or replaced. Really, don t worry about it, it s a great console and that is a small problem that shouldn t be a reason not to buy one or even fear buying one.|::::|the red ring of death is impossible to be fixed its something the buyers have to prevent. The Xbox 360 has a fan to cool its self off while on. Some people keep the 360 in a case or in some type of in closed cabinet. The 360 needs to breathe too! So if that happens the hot air it lets out go back in overheating the 360 causing the Red Ring of Death[Red eye] so just make sure your 360 has room to breathe and you be ok. God forbid you get the red eye of death on your 360 turn it off. wait a day, put a cool towel over it and try to play it in about 34 minutes, while its out in a open area[like a living room or something] and that will do it[trust me me and my friend did it over the summer and it work like a charm. i hope this help you you make your decision about getting the Xbox 360 best of luck Lil X|::::|Yes get the xbox360, the RROD was random 1 out of every 10 had em, but they fixed it over time, infact I was afraid to get the 360 because of that reason as well but im proud to say i ve owned a xbox360 for a year and a half and no RROD. Though I am pretty sure they that the later models don t have it.|::::|sometimes the rrod is caused when your 360 overheats. however, that can be solved by purchasing an intercooler
