Jesus of Nazareth was a man from the area of Galilee. He was born in Bethlehem, raised in Egypt, spent his young adulthood in Galilee (Nazareth), and began teaching some remarkable things in his thirties. He was a carpenter by trade. Good, bad or indifferent, we simply don t know. I m sure he did his best, anyway. In those days, carpenters didn t have any machinery or power tools, so he probably could have tied Arnold Schwarzenegger into a pretzel if he had wanted to. On the other hand, his face could probably have curdled water. There was nothing about him that would make him popular. He didn t have the money or the looks, and he definitely didn t go around telling people that they could do whatever they wanted. He largely ate barley bread, and on good days he got some fish, apples, or honeycomb. He really didn t have anything of his own. He didn t earn money, he had people taking care of him. He probably looked about like the rest of the people of his time in Palestine, and where he slept was different almost every night.
