Semi truck driver job ( industial friegth) life ,salaries etc ? -

Hi my boyfriends live in detroit im in spain. he s a truck driver for an industrial frieght deliver across the country. since were getting marry next year he said that he will support me( 500$/month) and ask me to quit my job w/c i did. now its been 3 mos now and all he send me is 240$ i ask him why he cant send me 500$ dollars a month like he said , he told its slow in america right now and its hard to earn money and tell me that it will peak soon and he s doing his best, told me i should not worry coz he promise he will take of me. he plans and promise many things for our future, which is not happening right now. im up set and disappointed, and so worried if he is just all talk and no action. my question is How much salary is the truck driver in detroit make a month? How do they get thier salary( per delivery, per costomers.hourly, weekly or monthly). do they have fix income ( he said he usually make 2000$ a week but now he make only 700$ for 20days.im confuse) Is it really a slow season now? when is the peak season for this type of job. Do you think its a good paying job stable job. Hope anyone have knowledge/expirience about it could explain it to mere clearly and give me advice. tnx|::::|It is hard to say if he is telling You the truth, but I can tell you that some places here in America the truckers having a slow season. I hear that the ports are not moving like in Seattle area and if it isn t moving there is might be slow all over. With the huge snow storms all over will slow him down. It is hard to tell you what he makes because I have no idea. Some places make them take care of all the repairs, gas and ETC. If his work is good they make fairly good money. My brother drove truck for over 30 years and did very well. I found out years ago that when a man is in love he does want the wife to stay at home and not work, but any more both have to work , so having a job is a good idea. Men are hard to understand, but I have never yet see one who stayed in love for over the first year...I mean enough to make women happy. But, also I can be wrong, every man is different. Things are looking real bad in America now with the bailouts. A lot of people disagree with me. I do stay real close with what is going on and do a lot of research. They cannot keep spending and put nothing back into the country. America is not going to be a safe place when this these guys get through with us and I am concern of riots, violent disturbance which the people will get very angry when they find out thay have been screwed boy our government. Just want you to know and they say when the truckers start slowing down it is a sure time of something is about to happen. Nothing is stable anymore. But I hope the truckers will have a job, if not we are in a world of hurt. They transport, food, clothes, medication, car parts and much more. We need them and they do a great job. Most Americans are dumb down and believe that America will never fall and have hard times. I hope I am wrong. What ever you do, please try to work. If something does happen, you don t want to be here and cannot get back home. Good luck!
