Why do companies make annoying fax calls? -

very annoying companies and corporations are constantly calling from around 12 PM until around 7:30 (Rarely in the middle of the night, but it s very frightening when a loud phone call wakes you up at 3 in the morning) I get 5-6 messages after i get home and most of them have that annoying BEEP... BEEP... BEEP... BEEP and then they hang up on you because you don t have a fax machine... and usually it is the same company calling all the time (780-443-2129)and the Caller ID is Digital Contact!!! It s just like the companies are calling random people at random times to annoy them! Why do companies fax so much??? Do they earn money or something???|::::|That s not necessarily true, faxes can be used to SPAM people just like almost every other form of technology. You may be on some sort of spamming list. In which case things could get worse if that list gets spread around to other spammers. You re best bet is to look into perhaps adding on a service with your phone company that would allow you to block numbers. Good Luck! Thanks, GladToHelp|::::|Sometimes they have a wrong number, we get some of those accidentally from local businesses. They probably don t mean to send you those.|::::|It may be easy to stop these fax calls: Write a letter and fax it back to this number. They truly may not even know that they are harassing you. In most cases, this is a glitch in their system, or a mistake on the part of a data entry clerk. Another solution is to block this number from calling you. If this is on your land line phone, you can get a service called Selective Call Rejection. With this feature, you can reject certain numbers. If this is on your cell phone, call your provider, insist that this specific number is harassing you...be polite, but insistent. They can block this number without law enforcement intervening. You can also contact your local law enforcement and start legal proceedings...this will take more time, and will be more of a hassle for you. Another solution...that is never, ever popular!!! Change your phone number! I know...no one ever wants to do this...but it will put a stop to the calls.
