Everyone i know says i have weird ambitions, do i? -
my ambitions are to study in a foreign country for uni and when i leave just travel around working for a period of time in whichever country i feel like even though i may not earn much money ~messjess|::::|Not weird at all. I did that too - xinA got me, ouch, I m an Aussie grad, currently outside Australia on a working holiday....lol And some of my friends did it too....and wherever I go I meet some Aussies doing the same thing: Malaysia, Singapore, Hongkong, Ireland, UK, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Italy, Turkey...|::::|Well I don t think that it sounds weird at all. Maybe all the people you know are just boring and need to get out more to see the world?? lol. I want to take a gap year during uni to travel around when I have enough money...probably to backpack around south america. I m learning spanish, so maybe I could earn some money there while i m at it just to support my travels. Dream come true!! Weird ambitions are like going direct to a full-time trade job from school in the same place as you live and staying in that job for the rest of your life, not travelling anywhere, finding a partner and getting married in a church, going on a honeymoon where all you do is stay in the hotel and have massages...and lie around on the beach without venturing further, then settling back in your hometown in one of those average suburban housing estates that all look the same, then having kids to follow the exact same path, probably in the father s business. Wait...is that even an ambition?|::::|I think they re absolutely terrific, but if you re in with a bunch of people who were programmed to train themselves for careers, get right to them, marry, buy a house in the burbs and do their European exploration in 2-week increments every other summer... yes, then they might think you re weird. But I think they re fabulous ambitions and there are others who do too. Find them and go for it! You ll be a lot more interesting than your detractors in a very short time.|::::|Your plans sound fantastic. They think it s wierd because, among other things, they don t have the sense of adventure as you do. Their idea of quot;normalquot; probably consists of sitting on their butts, watching Reality TV on the big screen. I studied abroad and it totally changed my life, go for it!!|::::|That sounds like an Aussie student. Lol. No your ambitions are not weird, you are simply wanting to live your life to the fullest without too much alcohol, too much sex and maybe drugs -- which is good.
