Is our wallet getting raped by taxes, or have we lost our reality of living in welfare and not paying taxes? -

It makes me so frustrated that every people wants to have a free ride instead of earning job money and paying taxes for the government. Since when are we becoming so stupid?|::::|Tax payers pay for welfare for people who do not need it, or misuse it. I say let tax payers pay for the drug screenings. after a few months allot of people who receive welfare wont be anymore. I say if we the tax payers have to pay we should be paying for those who really need. Id be more then willing to pay for a drug screen everyday if it meant a yr 6 mths down the road i am tax less for welfare due to less people qualifying. this is not about punishing anyone who really needs it. If I needed welfare i would have no problem taking the test. I would actually be happy that for once the government is really trying to help me by cutting out the abusers. imagine having 20 people apply but only 8 past the screening? the tax payers money saved from these results are high. this is about helping the WHOLE economy as a one. Imagine people actually having to go out and get a job. it would be a great asset to the whole world...|::::|That s why the national debt keeps rising. You can blame each President for making it worse, but it will continue to get worse with each President, regardless who it is. On the positive side, personal income tax used to be as high as 90%. Now the top bracket is 35%. People like to amuse themselves that our economic system is in trouble due to rich people not paying enough income taxes, but even if you doubled everyone s income tax, it still wouldn t be enough. It s the companies that pay the majority of taxes that float the government.|::::|I m not quite sure of where this idea comes from. The US has one of the lowest percentage of welfare recipients in the industrial world and many want it to zero regardless of the reason someone might be in need. We could go back the the days before any social nets when even old people were simply thrown to the wolves, poor simply starved and handicapped people begged in the streets. Would that satisfy your want for a pure system of capitalism? I doubt you re old enough to remember bread lines or when masses of people starved, but it wasn t long ago in the US when that was common place. We ll be back in those times soon enough though no thanks to the likes of you and your ilk. The have-nots are getting absolutely zilch while congress and the whitehouse are doling out billions to banks who simply lie to us and buy up lesser banks instead of loaning it out and while I m on that subject, they get to LOAN this money out, collect every penny of the interest while common people can t get loans and if we do the interest rates are skyrocketed at the whims of the bankers. I have received not one dime in welfare and pay zilch in tax because i work for myself and simply keep what i make, but if they want to hand me a few crumbs I ll surely take it because i currently live in a shed with no running water. I can t work a regular job and pay taxes for reasons I won t say here, but they are perfectly valid by any standards. In the meantime bankers are raking in BILLIONS and i should feel ashamed if i get so much as a few hundred from government? You gotta be kidding us...right?|::::|As it is, it s so much easier to quot;rape the systemquot; with a free ride rather than fight the frustrating tide of trying to reform our valueless politicians and social programs. If you can t beat em you might as well join em. Right!? So, currently we can be in a welfare state but on the flip side what do you call all of these companies asking for government bailouts? What percentage of the workforce do you think are free riders?|::::|We became stupid when FDR started giving away money for nothing. The politicians found it to be a quick way to buy votes, now they re stuck with the system that no one wanted and everyone uses.|::::|the answer is both. maybe the free loaders aren t so stupid but those of us who pay taxes are.We should all stop paying and then no one gets anything.
