How can i defer my entry into university after receiving all of my offers? -

I ve already applied to universities using UCAS and have recieved all of my offers but now i m wanting to take a year out and earn some money to pay for it and decide what i actually want to do with my life, can i defer my entry after receiving offers and if so how? thanks for your help.|::::|Hello I suggest having a look at the UCAS website at http://ucas.com/students/afteryouapply/m... for guidance about deferral procedures. Go to the section ‘Choice of course, year or point of entry’ and you’ll see instructions about what to do next. Essentially it’s a case of contacting the university directly, if you are still happy with the course choice. Then, if the university agrees they will notify UCAS. It’s important though to be clear about how your circumstances will be more conducive to study next year, before putting your case forward to the university (otherwise you may find yourself in similar circumstances next year?). As funding is an issue, have a look at information on possible sources of funding. The following sites provide an overview of financial support available for students in England: http://unimoney.direct.gov.uk/financial-... and http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/EducationAnd... You haven’t said where you live but there are links here to relevant funding information for Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and EU countries. Remember to also check with individual universities if there are any scholarships, or other funding opportunities, available for your particular area of study. You don’t say what age you are but it may be worth having a look at: http://www.ucas.com/students/maturestude... and http://www.ucas.com/students/beforeyouap... for information on alternatives to full-time study. To find out more about distance learning with The Open University and check if your subject choice is available, see http://www.open.ac.uk/ (detailed information on courses, supported open learning, financial and other support), and http://www.open.ac.uk/you/ (information for young students). I do hope this helps answer your query and wish you well in your future study plans.|::::|That would be up to the Admissions Committee of the universities where you were offered a student position. If the universities are highly competitive with other schools, then it would be unlikely they would hold a spot for you especially so you can decide what field you want to enter. There are too many students who would want your spot that already know the field they want to enter. However, if you have been offered a student position in a community college, your chance of being able to quot;holdquot; your spot goes up. Contact each school to find out their policies on this matter.|::::|You can. When you decide what university you want to go to, call them up and ask them the specific procedure for deferring, you ll still need to get your grades but it should be fine.
