Whatamp;#39;s a life of a doctor who specializes in family medicine like? -
I want to be a doctor because I want to be able to help deal with other people s health problems. I just want to know how much a doctor who specializes in family medicine earn and their way of life. I just don t want to enter medical school just because of the money or prestige attached to being a doctor. I m worried that I might be disillusioned and regret going into medical school.|::::|Probably depends where he works. I m no doctor or anything but my Uncle is. He runs his own practice, and his lifestyle is very busy, and hectic. He is on call at times, always has a beepers, and always has a lot to do. I go to a public HMO, which is just doctors working for a big company like Kaiser, Blue Shield, and stuff like that, and to me it seems like their lives are much easier. They are not always on call, and have set hours that they work. And only during those hours do they work...|::::|For 8 hours a day they see another patient every 15 minutes. Type in their symptoms into a PDA, tell them what the PDA tells them they have, write them a prescription for what the PDA tells them to, then see the next patient, and so on. They also have big McMansions, and foreign sports cars made by people making $1/hr. And have affairs with their co-workers, and do a lot of prescription drugs on the side. j/k lol. That s just what I assume.
