What is a GS-6/GS-6 experience for government job? -

Anybody got a link to the explanation of GS system for gov jobs? I m looking at a jobs in the Federal government but cant figure out they re system of GS-whatevers. All the job descripts already tell me how much money they earn.|::::|Go to usajobs.com and pull up the actual job announcement. The job announcement will state what is required for that particular GS level, and sometimes it will also describe what the next level up is all about as well. There is not a central list of what the various GS level requirements are because within the GS system, there are a multitude of jobs, each one of them have different requirements. For example, a GS 5 job for a clerical job might ask for 2 years of experience, while a GS 5 job for a teaching position could require at least an Associate s degree.
