You might not have to if DSHS can help you. At this point doing nothing means your son will die or be taken away. What s the best thing you can do for your son that will make his life better? Don t rely on a man or john or pimp. You need a real life. Maybe your son can go in foster care while your looking for work. CPS could help if they know that you re doing your best. Your son hopefully wins either way if they find him a decent home. The best place is with you if you can take care of him. How do you feed yourself? Is there a pregnancy crisis line around? Usually they have support for mothers. If you don t like the foster care or adoption agency route and you can t do it, maybe you can find someone you know who would adopt it in an open way. If you don t do something and your son starves to death, it will be on your hands. If the dad is irresponsible, he doesn t deserve parental rights.
