Why cant money grow on trees? -
So here is my dilemma. I am 14 years old. I am smart and such and really need a job because I want to go to this camp that is 3000 dollars. I do babysit and all that good nonsense, but I would like a more consistent job. Does anybody have any ideas of what I could do to earn money, other then babysitting? Also do you know any chains that hire 14 year olders? Thanks everyone =)|::::|You have any local holiday cottages or resorts or anything? I clean the holiday cottages on the outskirts of my village. Good pay (: And the worst thing you have to do is clean out the bins and find spiders aha. Also try local shops, shelf stockers or working on the tills. (Big supermarket chains excluded, just small locals) How bout gardening for people? Minimum wage is £5.25 so just say thats what you charge an hour and say you ll garden for an hour :) Errrmm, waitressing is always a good one as well. Or if you have a local pub then try dish washing (: Oh, and if money grew on trees then the economy would be even worse than it is atm because the money would be worthless (did something about that happening in Germany in my History lesson the other day lol) =D Hope thats given you a few ideas (Y) Good luck!|::::|money can t grow on trees because if it did it wouldn t be worth anything!!! because people could always grow more the value of it would go down significantly. that being said. how long is this camp? do they pay for food? what kind of camp is it? No most chains require you to be at least 16 if not 18. but i d try getting a more steady job bussing tables at resteraunts. you can do that at 14. i d apply at more mom and pop shops and less chain resteraunts, because the big chains get gazillions of applicants (many older then you and more experienced), family owned resteraunts get less applicants and will be more likely to hire you. try maybe being a bagger at a grocery store, or taking up a paper route, walking dogs, cleaning houses for people, babysitting. thats all i can come up with.|::::|It depends on the state you live in, the local work laws, and a variety of other things which you really can t get a definitive answer to unless you clarified. Some states do hire 14 year old individuals, but they are few and far between. Also, earning $3,000 isn t entirely realistic, as you would be getting minimum wage at a maximum of 15 to 20 hours a week. So figure on $80-90 net paycheck per week, and you have 33 weeks to go. Most likely not within your time-frame for a camp.|::::|I m sure there would be plenty of people who would be more than happy to pay you money for shoveling snow. Or, if you live in a snow-free environment, offer to do some weed-pulling or yardwork. Chains probably won t hire you before you are 16, which is the age in most states you can legally apply for a work permit.|::::|$3000 for a camp! Not if you were my daughter. You will need to learn some lessons as you grow up. One is to live within your means. At 14, you will not be hired by any chains, You need to be 16.
