Wearing costume to take pictures ? -
Last month, I went to Walk Of Fame at Hollywood, CA. I saw someone who wear a costume (like Mickey mouse costume, or sponge bob costume). Every time, you want to take a picture with them, you have to pay 1 dollar tip. They said they are pro and work on tips only. Then, I went back to NYC, I realized that I am interested in doing that kind of job. I am planning to buy a professional costume and stand at 5th avenue or times squares; therefore, travelers and visitors can take a pictures with me. So I can earn some money during this winter break. But, I am wondering if I have to get any permission to do this job. Do I have to notify the local government or police station to do this kind of job? Or I can just go there to start doing my job without asking anyone to get permission. Because I have already seen a lot of people doing this on Times Squares (Do they work for themselves or any organization ?). I really do not know whom to ask these questions. Thank you guys for paying attention to my questions. Wish you have a great holiday. |::::|Street performers are covered under local laws, so you need to call the City Hall where you plan on setting up. They will probably require a permit.|::::|As far as I know in NY laws and NYC laws they wont require a type of permit. I suggest you take this up with your nearest precinct they will help you alot better.
