Im still 17, but can i create a bank account that my parents cannot take money out of? -
i used to have a college savings account. there wasn t much but it was almost $400. they quot;needed to pay off billsquot;. that was money that i had earned or had received from family members for the specific purpose of saving for college. now i have a job. i will be earning every cent and will be saving once again for college in the fall of 2009 and rent for my apartment (i m going to a community college first). i understand that they are my parents, but taking MY money without even asking is just WRONG!!! I ve also been told that it s illegal. so how can i prevent this? |::::|Find a different bank that your parents don t use, open an account, opt for online statements (so that your parents don t see the statements come to the house), and talk to the personal banker when you open the account about how to keep your parents out of it. Then, talk to your parents about how they plan to repay you the money they took without your consent.|::::|I would just go to your local bank and open an account. I am sure that you are old enough to start one without your parents on it.|::::|Maybe you should just keep it and not put it in the bank
